11:11NYC Entertainment Official Press Release
11:11NYC is a company that seeks to provide various mediums of entertainment to its fanbase of young and culturally diverse people within the New York and tri-state region. From concerts, upscale birthday events, fashion shows to mixers, we create a platform for young African professionals to mingle, educate and network to develop the new generation of business-minded Africans.
We belive that working in the ever-influential entertainment community and beyond can bring about positive change, both here in the U.S. and most importantly in Africa. In 2008, 11:11NYC launched its first concert series titled “Cream of the Crop” that featured an internationally known major Nigerian Artist, Banky W, and other notable upcoming artists.
Other events that 11:11NYC has been honored to host include:
The Annual Nigeria Entertainment Awards Pre Party,
the Omo Naija Magazine Launch Party in 2010,
“Showstopper” the afterparty to the TWESE African Student Organization of Rutgers University
and recently in 2009,
our first ever “Polka Dot Cruise” boatride,
a black and white cocktail event that hosted about 300 of New York City’s young professionals and socialites.
11:11NYC is also involved in the community. This year, we supported our brothers and sisters in Haiti through an organization by the name of Konbi Pou Edikasyon, an organization focused on education empowerment in Haiti, to provide emergency materials for children who were affected by the earthquake.
Our Community effort for this year is a partnership with the International Ladies for Excellence, Empowerment and Development (ILEED), a summer enrichment program that provides self/community development workshops for young girls in the African diaspora. For more information on how to support or get involved please email info.ileed@gmail.com.
Upcoming events include:
Polka Dot cruise 2 – With 4 DJs, 2 floors, elegant people and beautiful ambience, the most anticipated sequel to a great event promises to be even better in 2010.
I AM AFRICAN – A visual campaign of pride with the diaspora.
