Timi Dakolo’s win, Bimbo Ayorinde’s vindication?
The winner of the first ever Idols West Africa, Timi Dakolo is a happy man at the moment. And the reason is not far-fetched. The talented vocalist last night walked away with a headie for “Best Recording” at the Hip Hop World awards.
But one person is perhaps happier, and that is Abimbola Ayorinde his former manager who feels vindicated after being accused by the singer of theft. We gathered that Bimbo was in the habit of selling Timi’s promo CD’s which were never to be for sale, and as soon as the crooner got wind of it, he showed her the exit door.

Bimbo this morning expressed her vindication via her twitter account (Her Id is SapphireChic) and her comments read thus:
“After hustln my butt off,gettn called a thief….n a HHW award 4 recording of d yr 4 a single later,I can leave entertainment for all y’all.”
“3yrs after idols,2managers…no growth. Bimbo had 5months n 2HHWA nominatns and an award 4 RECORDING OF D YEAR! Nigga what!”
“I delivered by His grace!! Music Industry….peace! I’m out!”
“5months managin ur ass n I delivered wht others cldnt in 3yrs! Lalala!!”
As a former manager, dont you think these comments of yours were a bit too off limits?

this is just a classic case of stupidity and its a shame to know how far she is going with seeking gratitude for the "so called work"she did. Did she record it in the studio for him? Grow up girl. and accept that what you also did was theft. Selling promo cd's thats just dingy, cheap and criminal.
This tirade is so childish and borders on the insane.
Timi alleges that Abimbola sold his cds and never remitted the money to him. Bimbo confirms this allegation and tells whoever wishes to hear that she used to money to get him HHA nomination.
Timi says that Bimbo has not business claiming credit for Heaven Please as it was recorded under his previous manager long before Bimbo showed up. He signed with Bimbo in October 2009. Heaven Please was recorded in April/May 2009. It was ready for release before Bimbo came on the scene.
Is Bimbo saying that Headies are for sale? Doesn't make sense to me.
Professionalism is the name of the game. Bimbo should grow up.
Shame that Timi dakolo wld keep playing the victim like ds. I happen to know the real stry. Timi knew about the sales of the cds,i was with them when they came to the palms together to make enquiries. Timi saying he doesnt know anything abt the sales is just a lie cos he had collected part of the money. Pple lets not be too quick to judge,the industry understands why bimbo is hurting and thats because she pushed for him to be recognised. she didnt buy his nomination nor win,because the cash in question is just 30,000naira.She used the money to run around distributuing cds because Timi wouldnt drop money to push his own career. its sad that u guys are playing judge and jury here without finding out the real story.Maybe Bimbo wasnt mature about her approach but if u followed the story,u wld see that it was timi who went on twitter calling bimbo a thief and maybe thats her way of lashing out,we r all humans. how many of u will stand down bn called a thief when u havent stolen jack?.There are evidences to prove everything including eye witnesses,myself included.if Timi 'thot'his cds were bn sold without his knowledge,why did he want to employ pple to sell these same cds at the experience 2009.@Nneka,yes the song was ready but who knew about it?until his manager pushed it for release? talent is one thing,management is another. if u dont know the true story,dont judge. if bimbo was such a thief,why are pple still working with her? dont judge so u will not be judged.
Well said Femi. I guess this explains why Omawumi is making more headway in the music industry than Timi. Foolish boy….
@Femi: it's nice that you came to defend Bimbo. At least, we get to hear a bit of "both" sides of the story. Bottom line, Bimbo should not have thrown professionalism to the bin and acted like a hooligan. If Timi does what he does, who blames him? The apple doesn't fall too far from the tree. You get what I mean? Bimbo should carry herself with dignity and realise that her ranting on twitter doesn't change the facts of the situation nor help her case. I also wonder why you guys would ignore Timi's rant or allow the crap on his twitter page to remain there if it weren't true.
What Bimbo did for Timi was not unique. Hell, artistes do this for themselves all the time. Timi had a number one single Let it Shine, going on radio which brought him out of obscurity before Bimbo came along. What about the manager that made that possible? What did Timi say about him? What is his story about Timi?
This is a lesson – when you see a artiste claiming that he's previous managers are bad, awful people … think again. Do some due diligence before you sign up people who walk up to you in a night club and request management.

If what Femi said is true then I think Timi should be the one to grow up. For Christ sakes, 30,000 Naira? I don't know this Bimbo chic personally but I have a girlfriend plus lots and lots of female friends, 30 grand is barely a week's pay for 'em. People are out there stealing major bucks and dude is here talking about 30 grand? Nigga pls !!!
